datasource generator with read-only oracle views?

Can the DataSource generator be used with read-only Oracle data?

I've configured a read only Oracle database with a large number of tables using the admin console, and I was hoping to be able to user the data source generator to create datasources. However, the database doesn't even show up in the data source generator.

This is consistent between 9.0 and 9.1 evaluation versions.

Maybe this is a feature?
