Hide Quick Filter When ListGrid Column is Hidden

I know in SC 9.1 there is a change in default behavior that quick filter is now kept when the corresponding column becomes hidden and is kept intact when later the column is brought back. However this is confusing to our customer who has to deal with large amount of columns that only a handful is visible at anytime. I couldn't find anywhere in SC documentation to revert the behavior back to prior 9.1 state but have found this attribute to be set "true" on ListGrid.filterEditorProperties : "discardEditsOnHideField" which does the trick.
Could you please confirm that this is the correct way?
