Not able to disable the tool strip button in IE 8

Hi,

Could somebody help me to disable the tool strip button in the tool strip
i tried to disable the button using the button.disable property but this is expecting the icon as iconName_Disabled in my case i have only one icon for which i need to disable it at times
so could somebody help me out on this !!!
